Took Winken on his inaugural Lowbatts hike along. Another marathon walk into the woods and at one of the more serene sites you'll find in them woods if you ever get crazy enough to hike that far to swing a coil, we happened upon an old campsite. Virtually no modern trash anywhere, just some old shell casings, .30 ball, a very old .223 and them old shotgun brass pieces though not too heavy.

Somewhere in the middle of this I popped out the 1907 dime, the 1914 dime and the 1925 buff.

All of these targets were 5 or more inches in soft deep clean dirt so I'm hoping there's more even deeper if/when I regain enough muscle to get back there. Man am I old!

I've been through my fair share of those.

Hey Lowbatt's. Just let L4S and I know where you were. We would be happy to make the hike for you and clean up! Heheh.

Congrats on them fine coins!

Hey Tim, I'd walk a mile for a Buffalo, or is that a Camel?
Next time come with us to our woods,, only five steps in to the Barbers.

WTG on those dimes!

Nice barbers and buffalo :icon_thumright: I have a site like that. A MD'ing buddy of mine that I've took with me calls it the Crucible.
Well worth it.

Nice pair of Barbers Tim! Well worth the hike!

You could always get a rascal scooter and outfit it with tank treads if the walking becomes to much for you!

Hey lowbatts congrats again on those barbers. I think i had a nightmare last night that i was still walking in the woods. :help: well just kidding. That was some clean ground though, anytime i can search in all metal and hear nothing you know its clean. I did get a couple of wheaties both in the 50s so at least i wasn't skunked. Thanks again for the hunt and if we ever go back I'm gettin airlifted in.

Thanks folks!
Hey Ken, I gotta hand it too you. You are one hard core trooper! I'd have been mutineed and hung by most folks before the halfway points in or out on that one. Just one of those places where you can't wait for the skeeters and ticks to come out so the only way in is the long way.

Apparently they had horses and wagons do all the hiking back in the day!

Think I'll do it again tomorrow!

Nice barbers Tim! I'm always telling people that metal detecting is much more than just finding treasure, it's about getting outside, a breeze in your face... exercise and enjoying the little moments like when the sun comes up and the frost melts away.

Right on!

nice looking coins, it would be great to have a spot without all the extra garbage signals. good luck there when you go back!
