exactly. We have threads specifically about Oak Island , and then threads specifically about the show... and those that don't like the show seem to be the most active posters in these threads.

On any other forum, that would be deemed "trolling", and dealt with.

Hey Singlestack, If the sisters can be believed and indeed the cross came from the money pit, and according to Dr. Lori, (Antiquities Specialist) the rose gold Christian cross from the Spanish indies is dated to 1550-1700 and missing it's emeralds. That is evidence of a past treasure.

I have watched every Oak Island episode from the start. If the lady is correct, and they said she is from Penn State, the metal that was dated from 1650 to 1800 is proof that something else was or is there. Nobody dug that far down prior to 1800, except maybe the ones who buried the treasure. I guess I will have to wait till next year.

Not really. Unless we can definitively prove that the cross came from the Money Pit, it's still just a story.

Also, I haven't seen the finale yet ... does the specialist describe how she determined that they were emeralds on the cross and not rubies, or diamonds, or glass?

It is not the case that if pre-treasure seekers activity is discovered this means there must of been treasure hiders... For example J.Steele gives a plausible explanation for pre treasure seeker activity on the island. Even if there were treasure hiders the chances that treasure remains are pretty small.. People mostly hide treasure to come back and get it...

Everybody hides treasure to come back and get it but we all know that lots of treasure still exist to this day all over the world because people didn't make it back to retrieve it. I think at one time there was more than one treasure on Oak Island and I believe there still may be treasure there but finding it will prove difficult because a majority of the real clues that were left behind have been destroyed by hole diggers, not actual treasure hunters, just hole diggers or they would have tried to use the actual clues to find what was there. Personally, I think the tree of life stuff is BS.
The cross has specific measurements and angles that I think are made to be used to find what you are looking for from a specific point on the cross.

One pointer on Oak Island that is well documented is what was called the "stone triangle" and it pointed to a trail alongside the Gold River. This old trail led to Charing Cross, now New Ross. Easy to check out as there are drawings on-line.

How much does a few hotel rooms for a few nights, a few meals at restaurants, and the munchies from the roadtrips and the pit stops bring from MAYBE a whopping 1000 people a year to the Island?

Do you think it brings in that much a year in TAX REVENUES back to the Govt? Or is that the GROSS value of the commerce.......the Govt gets but pennies of every dollar

To just hand out a grant that is supposed to be going to Canadian Filmmakers that produce valued landscape and cultural heritage videos......

The Nova Scotia Govt pumped out 1.25 mil.......on the erection of the Lagina fallacy.......to dig 4 holes and still not find their vault......how precise is that....bunch of Klutz's with heads so far up their own......you know the rest....



And the sad part is a Canadian is out of a job making films because they sucked up almost ALL of the grant in that fund, for one production.......hell that much could have made a film about every part of nova scotia for a full look at the province....

For footage they cant even use for Canadian Heritage or Education....its all given to them to help them film.......for their show to own the footage.

History wont pay for digging.....and Prometheus already scraped the barrel through the wood ......

If I was Canadian, I would have a thousand people there touring the island every day.......just to protest what is going on.......

An interesting view... Oak Island is a fascinating part of Nova Scotia history.. It does seem reasonable that the government helps fund a 'serious' show about Oak Island. Before the Laginas started this effort there was doubt about wether a treasure could exist under OI (I think this doubt has well and truly been put to rest).

The question really is more are the Laginas being honest?... If so I think the government grant was justified. However if the Laginas are now misleading everyone simply to spin their show out into a 5th season then this could be considered close to fraud... The taxpayers deserve the truth as they have part funded the effort...

So to me that is the question.....

I don't know, Eldo. If your claim that the show got $1.25 million from NS is accurate, then it can't be the majority of the fund, as the maximum allowable grant for any one production is $4 million (https://www.novascotiabusiness.com/sites/default/files/Guidelines-Nova-Scotia-Film-Fund.pdf).

Regardless, the show has brought money into the province... Irving Equipment, Huntley's Sub-Aqua, Valley Well Drilling, etc, etc, etc.... all local businesses that have been hired to work on site. I wouldn't doubt that the taxes paid by these companies, and the taxes paid by the employees of these companies, not to mention the other spin-offs, would more than pay back that $1.25 million.

It would be impossible to tell what group left the cross behind without doing a lot of searching on the island to see what other clues may still be there that would help with identifying a specific group. Lots of people over the centuries have used math and geometry to hide things. You would have to figure out how the cross is to be used and then follow it to what ever it leads you to.

Based on the little bit of information I have gathered and playing with the layout I think the cross takes you to the exact location of the money pit. I also think it takes you to at least two other specific spots for unknown reasons. The additional measurements could be used as a map for the tunneling, telling you how deep to go before going horizontal. If there is a "treasure vault" connected to the money pit then the cross could also take you to a secondary entrance (possibly to bypass any flooding caused by digging in the money pit). I had mentioned to Marty Lagina that it could be possible the money pit was designed to hold back water, kind of like a cork and act as as a deterrent to the multitude of idiots that continued to dig in the pit past a certain point. Think of the money pit as a cup turned upside down and stuck into a body of water vertically. As long as the top and sides of the cup stay sealed the water remains out of the cup however, as soon as you put a hole in the top of the cup the air leaks out and the cup fills with water.

If this is the case then I feel the hiders of the treasure probably would have been smart enough to make a second hidden entry into the vault that completely bypasses any water.

Keep in mind I'm am pretty much making this up based on the limited information available on the internet and the show. I have never been on Oak Island and don't know what other clues may still be there however I have worked several treasure sites based on geometrical shapes like the cross which leads me to believe the cross is an actual and very important clue to something hidden on the island. Is it still there? I don't know but the chances of finding anything dwindle daily as people continue to destroy clues without sometimes even knowing they are clues. That's because these guys aren't treasure hunters, they are hole diggers with no concept of how treasure would have been hidden or how a site would have been laid out so that it could be found again without having a map in your hands.
