Hey everyone,

Been getting out again in the evenings here and there for a hr or 2. The last few hunts have been slow. But I did manage to pull up some nice coins while I was out. I continue to hunt this old park when I am pressed for time. It is close to home.

I've been hitting this place for 5 straight yrs and still can't clean it out. I see other hunters hunting the place with Diff units. None of them are finding coins except for me. They are all deep and take true skill to listen for them.

I managed a really nice 1868 2 center the other evening while there. The surface was loaded with tabs but I had the stock coil on and was able to seperate this coin from the trash. It was found behind a cabin that dates back to 1813.

I also pulled a really nice barber quarter a 1908 D while there. It is amazing what the thaw can do to a good site. You just can't clean a good area out. I also found three indians 1887 1890 and a 1894. Plus a 1922 pgh railways token and a no date buff. Also a 1902 barber dime.

I also found a really cool relic. I beleive it to be a turn of the century sugar cube tong. Correct me if I am wrong. It says on it Reymers. I have had no luck with info on this piece. It has a sheild on it that looks like the one's they put on our bridges here in pittsburgh. It also has a cabin on each side. Pretty cool find and it's amazing it didn't get broken. I use a shovel to dig.

I usually don't post until I have more. But these are some decent diggs and I plan to get more over the weekend. Thanks alot for looking everyone.

HH Jer

I want to party with you dude! Nice finds, HH Kane23

Jeremy! Looks like we're gonna get to see another year of fantastic finds from YOU! 8) Always great finds and pictures!

Thanks for posting! Nana :)

Looks good! The two center is on my list. I hope when I find one it will look as good as yours.

Parks with trash are good cause all the lazy people with detectors leave the stuff for us. ;D

Nice finds Jer,

Very cool digs. The tongs may also be for chocolates. I believe the Shark Pit posts show several set of tongs that came with boxed chocolates so the ladies didn't get their fingers messy. Very nice either way.

Very cool digs! I live the tongs, I'd use them for my own chocolates anyday. ;D

Awesome 2 center.......on my wishlist. Good job!

Thanks alot everyone,

I hope Nana. I say it every yr. Where am I gonna hunt next season. And some how the TH in us finds a way to keep that search on even when it gets hard. I wish I could say right now I got 10 new sites lined up. I don't but they will come.

Mirage, these 2 centers can be elusive at times. They read a high scewcap. They sound like a new zinc penny in the park. They hit like a 68 maybe a little lower. This one was only about 3 inches deep. It was on a run off. It sounded like a wine cap all day.

I got really lucky though in 2 ways. One I found the coin. 2 the soil in the area had to be some of the best in the park. I found a 1864 in the same park a few yrs ago. It was eaten alive. Most coins from this park are very rough. Even the silver will come out white. I hand cleaned this one gently.

Yes OO,

You are right. I was thinking they may have came with some kind of candy maybe. I thought it was a advertising piece maybe. They would work great for chocolates too.

Sara, that is funny. I was already walking around the house picking up little stuff with them. They still work well. My boys even liked playing with it. It was very fragile. But i managed to get a good result after I tumbled it for about 12 hrs. I could still polish it out and make it better.

Thanks again everyone,

HH Jer

Great finds Jer! Good you can get out with your busy family and job. Nice pics and HH, Mike

Great assortment of quality finds! Ours is a great area to hunt.

Way to beat everybody out and pull through with the goods from that park. Love the condition of the 2 cent.

Thanks alot everyone,

Yes our area is rich in history Halfdime. Finding turn of the century stuff is very easy around here. We were rolling strong here in those times.

It is Crazy Nate. Saturday, me and my son walk right up into the woods me with my Dfx him with a 250. Not 2 minutes later 2 guys are coming up into the woods to hunt also. After about 1.5 hrs the guy finds me. He had a eagle spectrum whites. He had no finds. I had a indian the tongs and a few other relics.

Not many targets left in this place. But if you find a coin it is 100 yrs old or older alot of the time. I'd take a barber quarter over 4 washingtons in 2 hrs anyday. It's just one of those places. Been one of my favorite hunting grounds of all time.
