Any Deep Digger Dan fans?

Hey all,

Kinda new here and I have read some rather spirited discussions of the American Diggers TV show and the NatGeo Diggers, but I haven't seen any mention of Deep Digger Dan on YouTube, I think he's hilarious, anyone else out there a Deep Digger Dan fan? HH

Deep Digger Dan is hilarious! The big difference with him and those guys on tv is that he don't make a profit like those guys on the tv shows. He is only on Youtube if I am correct and doesn't have a tv show.

He most definitely makes money from his youtube videos! He is making somewhere around $10,000 a year for his detecting channel. I haven't even looked at his other channels to see how he's doing there.

I don't like his videos, but plenty of others do. Live and let live.

Dan is fun to watch in a morbid kind of way. his life is a trainwreck. I love the video where he is about to leave Germany, his girlfriend has left him, he has only hours to go before his plane back to England, he has to clean the flat to get his deposit back and he discovers his ex has not mailed any of the packages for his e bay customers she was supposed to.

He is a noble man IMO. Doing what he dose and taking care of his daughter. I think he said he had to move back in with his Mum. I have not seen the video where he tells his story yet. I want to but I could tell that he had a hard road to ho before he came to youtube. His cooking shows are classic he cooks like most single middle aged male. Would love to meet him

He was my favorite detectorist to watch on YouTube, but he's quit all social media sites after being accused of thievery of donations. I don't believe the accusations...wish he'd give his side of the story, though.

I mailed him directly the other day and he responded informing me that he hasn't been out due to the adverse weather. I'm addition I could not find anything on the story of him allegedly misappropriating donations.

I think he is a great guy, very funny. His videos in Germany were much better, now it seems he is stuck with all the same problems us metal detectorists face - getting good places to hunt, once in a while a cool find lol. In Germany the whole country was a war zone the relics are everywhere and he was making some amazing finds.

Go to Facebook...Alan 'Kingdigger' Little is the guy saying these things about Dan. According to him, he donated items for Dan to give away as donations, but now is stating that Dan was profiting from the donations by selling the majority of them. Like I said, I don't buy it. Dan is such a sweet and genuinely kindhearted fellow who just wants to get kids off the couch and in the field. Some douchebag even started an 'anti' ddd club on FB. It's amazingly petty and weak if you ask me. But that's what jealousy does to some people.

I watched bout 2 mins of his YouTube videos. he acts worse than the clowns that have TV shows now. So glad He's over seas and not from the state's or he'd be ruining the hobby even more. Not everyone is jealous just because you don't like something, but I forgot if u dnt like these shows in tv ur jealous.

I enjoyed watching his videos, he seems to be a down to earth guy that really enjoys the thrill of the hunt. And I don't see anything wrong with that. These American detector shows are rather over hyped and staged to make money for these big ''reality channels''.

I thought DDD was weird, but funny until I saw the video of him finding a WWII Russian grenade and pulling the pin and throwing it. Then I realized that he is an idiot.

There's a difference between doing weird things and doing things that could eliminate oneself from the gene pool. I'm a digger and a certified EOD supervisor and I would never, ever dream of pulling the pin from a grenade that has been laying around since WWII and throwing it. Luckily for DDD, the grenade didn't detonate in his hand. However, now there is a WWII grenade laying on the forest floor WITHOUT a pin, that COULD detonate the next time some German child finds it and disturbs it.

DDD not only put his own life in immediate danger, but has also threatened the lives of anyone who might come in contact with that grenade.

Even though I'm a trained EOD supervisor, if I were to find something as potentially dangerous as that, I'd simply mark the area with an improvised warning sign and notify the police.
