That town has all those dark-eyed pepper bellies,but I really don't notice at all.Although I do enjoy those peasant blouses.

Albert wish you could make it.A guy did contact me from San Angelo(190mi) and asked if he and one or two others could join us.I told him,'sure' just let me know and that he should check this forum and thread out and get aquainted with everyone.Haven't heard anything else from him.

TC, you had more notice than most of us....you should not be mature and do the right thing but throw caution to the wind and come anyway! :laughing7: And NaNa, unless you are going to be the one to deliver that baby, you should come. Bring her with you, the baby can get started off in life right by being born in Texas. :headbang: I've watched plenty of cowboy movies...all you have to do is boil water and the baby is just born. :3some: I guess the threat of all that hot water makes the baby come right on out. :icon_thumleft: That would also be a first for our group, being present at a birthing while detecting. All in all, I'd say you don't have a choice except to come. Drive to Shreveport and we'll take you from here. :hello2:

I'll talk to the landowner later this week and see what he says.I could use someone to share the cost of a room also,remembering that I smoke.
Still waiting to see and hear from everyone on how many rooms we will need so that I can try and get something set up.

NANA - that baby will be here on or before the 20th as I said before,so do you and Charlie need a room?

OK,you ol'goat - Chattanooga to Uvalde - 1089mi.Your tractor will make that in no time at all.You can even eat vinegar pie all the way out there.Come on!
 

Everybody just needs to forget the milage and come on anyway. Gas prices have dropped now and you can come and watch a baby being born in Texas, a first for our group. :hello2: We're bringing hot water and NaNa is bring the expecting mother. :headbang: No pictures please......

Now where else can you come and do all that??? You can even bring back some illigal aliens to work around your house and yard and provide employment for the future citizens our President is going to make into Democrats. :protest: You can keep everything you find at the hunt now except buried gold bars. Besides there's probably plenty of bars in town anyway. :drunken_smilie:

So okay, lets quit whining on how far it is (cause we already know that), just think of all the stuff thats never been hunted for there. Dale Evans was born there, there's gotta be Roy Rogers stuff lost everywhere. So step up to the plate and tell WSD you're on your way and count you in. No guts, no glory!!! :icon_thumright:

Amber Sky -not recommended
Inn of Uvalde - $68 - coffee/doughnuts in am-$65 w/AAA
Quality Inn - $79-$67 w/AAA or AARP-2 dbl beds - full hot breakfast buffet.Think a single bed is about $61.
Holiday Inn and Best Western - $90-115.
I think I will take the Quality and I think my AAA will work for all of us.May be able to work the price a little more if I get the owner.He is on some tourist board with my buddy.Need to know how many rooms first tho.
 

Put me and BFE down for a non-smoking room with two beds (ground floor, microwave and mini-fridge if possible) for Fri, Sat and Sun night please, WSD.
We'll drive thru the night and arrive by noon on Fri, then plan to leave early Mon morn......
Sounds like Quality Inn has Internet service but some reviews said it's wireless and some said it's not....... so do we need to bring a LAN cable for our laptops or anything?!?

Cyber-In the rooms they have the modem you plug in.In the lobby they have wireless.

The rain is here and I'm losing my internet signal and it's suppose to rain all day tomorrow so it may be awhile before I'm on again.Hope this goes thru.
 

Man! Wish we could join you, but fate dictates otherwise. We're about to float away down here, and I'm about ready to be anywhere to see some sunshine. West Texas sounds GREAT!
