Any software developers out there?

I am a software developer looking to network with other software developers who dabble with different techniques to play with the ciphers in their spare time. I have not written a line of code related to these ciphers in 20 years or so but it can be a fun hobby when there is a good theory to chase. Over the years I have seen some basic applications to test different keys and such but nothing very sophisticated. Have there been any new development of interest, say in the past 10 years, related to the ciphers?
