help me out.... how come T-net has no lag issues, no crash issues, no load issues etc. with me, while increasingly most of my other long term haunts have been performing worse and worse. I am pretty careful about what I open, stay away from scam and BS stuff on the internet... But a lot of things seem different. I used to have MULTIPLE tabs open all at once but now seem to only be able to load a few at a time. ( I can only have DSL where I am, 10 mbps max). When I hook up to much higher internet I will sometimes get "K-mode" exceptions that crash and restart my computer...but ONLY (well...mostly)...on certain websites (Yahoo) and on certain browsers (Firefox).

I just don't think it is my computer (I use windows 11), I use AVG, I keep updated... so, what has or is changing in internet land to cause these issues?.... or is it me and my DSL...AND/OR (at 80/100 mbps)... an older laptop (3-4 years, HP)?

Have you ran any speed tests?

Here is site you can use, don't need to download it, run it online, see what your down load and upload.
Download would be what you want to pay attention to as that is what might make pages slow to load.

yeah I have done those, everything on my end seems the same year to year.... I am wondering if websites are getting overloaded with "junk" on their pages.

at the one place,,, dismal but expected 8, and the other 82. I think my point is, I think the internet environment is changing... more ads, more crap on a page.... DSL just cannot keep up

That would certainly slow down the loading pages, do you have a lot of open tabs, that would also slow down pages loading.

I run ad block. That way the computer is not trying to load all the adds on the page and slowing you down. If your computer has an older processor it may lag. Try Ad Block. You can always dump it if it does not work. You can also decide which sites to allow adds . It will have an allow list and just type in web address. It is a free app.
I am on fiber optic so its fast but I do not like all the adds but it might help you?

yeah, i do ad-block... but then some sites bitch that you use it and won't open unless you deactivate it.

as for opening multiple tabs,,,, i used to be able to open 10-12 at a time with no issue... these days, a couple at a time and they even load slow.

BOOM! that is the answer I was looking for, many thanks! That makes a lot of sense too.... all those ad-videos etc that have crept up over the past few years... junk, junk, junk. which also explains why sites like T-net, etc work well....
