Found in southeast VA rang up like silver has shiny parts to it and what looks like numbers or a strange design. Very heavy

Maybe a monogrammed piece of cutlery, like a butter knife? Is it thick or thin? It might be pewter.

Fyrffytr got it with, "a monogrammed piece of cutlery"... and it is made of pewter.
What's interesting is that if it is the letter 'H', initials are usually engraved running vertically down the handle, not horizontally as this one has been.

Makes me think that it might not be an 'H', but possibly Masonic symbol of some type. :icon_scratch:

Pretty cool, I’d say lead pewter flatware, I don’t think it’s masonic but you never know

Thanks an idea how old it could be?

I see the H looking at it from a different angle but looking at it straight on from top to bottom looks like a symbol rather than an H....
