any value in proofs ?

I'm pretty sure the silver proofs are all -s- mintmarks , and will also look very much like
silver - not cupronickel. happy hunting ! Argentium.

proof coins are currently produced in both silver and clad versions. They will have a S mint mark. They most likely will also have a cameo effect on the raised portions and a deep mirror like surface on the rest of the surfaces.

As to value. I took a few I had pulled from bags to the coin shop last week. I got $1.00 each for the dimes and 1.50 each for the halfs.

They only made silver proofs after 1992. You'll know if you get a hold of a silver one, they won't have that copper edge.

That's a heck of a price on those halfs.

Yeah those are 40%. The one's 92 and after are 90%.

Not true to make such a blanket statement. From 1992, they were made in both 90% silver and clad. They will both have an "S" mintmark. The silver ones will be easy to tell by the silver rim, sound, and color.

Yeah, We've found literally hundreds of Clad proofs, but only a couple of the %90 after 92 & on Silver ones.
