Anyone been sprayed by a skunk while hunting

Just curious if anyone run up on a skunk in woods detecting or a field? How did you handle the situation.

Nah.
Skunks mind their own if you leave them be.

I've sat with tall cover/weeds grasses by me and had one pass by a couple feet away. Just stepped a bit faster when It scented or spotted me.

Vehicles hitting them light them up.
Owls nailing them does too.
Unless seriously provoked they would rather just steer around or away.
If they sprayed just because thy were surprised or saw a human or another animal near they'd be spraying all the time.

I’ve ran into a couple walking in the mornings here and just steered away, made sure I walked calmly and stayed about 20 paces from them. I’m in the city but there are a lot of them, as well as possums and armadillos.

Walked around him,no smell so I picked him up and brought him home.
