What's new

Anyone else think the Roosie needs a new design in 2013?

I've just been thinking, nothing besides the silver alloy of the Roosevelt dime has changed. It's been 66 years since there was a change. The Nickel, Penny, Half, Quarter, and dollar have all been redesigned. Any thoughts?

I really don't like any of the new designs but if they were going to change the dime perhaps they could honor President Reagan.

lets go retro * and take known human "people" off our coins -- and put back the ideal of "liberty" on our coins -- like--the great "walking liberty half" --the "standing liberty quarter"- the winged liberty dime ( in error called the merc dime)- the "V" liberty nickle -- the flying eagle cent

humans are all flawed beings and as such should not be worshipped by being made into "money" (think of the former roman leaders on romes old coinage)-- pure ideals like "liberty" are not flawed and as such are fit to promote via our money.

So True! Haha.

That Reagan Dime is neat... bid placed! ;)

Put whatever image you want on the dime, just make it silver again!

Yep, I agree, take off FDR and replace him with Liberty.

I wouldn't mind having Columbia, the personification of the US on there either much like Britannia on British coins.

Let us replace our coinage of flawed, dead people, with a coinage based on ideas of freedom, liberty and individuality. Let's restore the artistic merit of US coins and make them works of art again.

Really, I'd like to see the "Eagle" denominations released again, although in silver (lower than intrinsic value so they won't all be taken to the scrap yard, keep the silver/gold/platinum eagles for bullion) something like Canada has done with their $20 silver coin, except mint it in unlimited quantities.

A Reagan Dime design would be awesome (a real circulating coin)! Best president of my lifetime, hands down!
