Anyone ever sent a Zippo lighter back for reconditioning?

A few months ago I dug a Zippo lighter from the early '60's and I'm considering sending it back to the company to have them bring it back to life. They have a life time guarantee. Anyone ever do this? Did you have to paid anything or was it totally free?

I'm curious too. I have a damaged lighter. Years ago my son and his friend were playing war, and pretended the lighter was a grenade and ripped the lid off.

You have to go to the Zippo wedsite, fill out the form for WINDPROOF lighter to get the Lifetime warranty work done for FREE. You will have to pay for the shipping to them. You have to take photos of the front of the lighter as well as the bottom of the lighter and attach them with the form.

I'd wager they would just send you a new one....

NO! They have an area where you can check off if the lighter has sentimental value to you. My wife gave me one for our 10th wedding anniversary with an inscription she had engraved on it. So a new one wouldn't cut it. Now if the lighter case has been beat to hell and no chance of fixing it, they will probably send you a new one. They will however replace the lighter insert and repair the lighter hinge.

Sent a Gulf Coast Transit of sentimental value to Zippo P.A..
Received a torn open package marked received damaged at a P.O.. Another stating contents missing.
Of course the lighter was missing.
Got the run around of course.. Like there's no way to find the alleged thief.

So. Any time the Post Office sent me a survey asking how they were doing I told them I want my F-N lighter back! For some reason they quit sending me surveys.

Quit the Govco. job.
Steal peoples stuff and get paid top wages and get great benefits in exchange.

Zippo held up it's end of the deal.
Someone working for the federal post office reaped the profit.

All It will cost you Is The Cost to Send it To Them.

Send One at a Time: It's in the Directions

They do Not Fix .

IF the Case is Still Good They Slide New Guts in and send it and the Original Guts back along with new Flint.

If The Case is not Good, They send a Free Lighter along with The old One Back along with new Flint..

Have No Fear ! they Always sent me Back the Old One too !

Old Zippos are Collectable, They Know This !
