anyone have a guess?

Found it at an area dating back to 1700, low tide. Also found war of 1812 items. It apears to be made of copper and looks fairly old. Could it be an item off a regimen uniform?

A wild guess...the insides of a clip on bow tie, used to help it keep it's shape. Looks like it has some of it broken off.
Probably way off in my guess before coffee today.

I have seen similar from a dump site out of the 30s, 40s as it 1930-40
I never did figure out what they were.

Kind of looks like part of an old car emblem too. I have seen alot of older car emblems that had a stud on the back of them like that that pushed into a grommet in a hole on the car. Just a WAG.

Looks like a moulding retainer clip for automotive or truck exterior trim. It snaps into the back of a moulding, then is pushed through a hole in the body, then an acorn or push nut is used to capture the stud, thus holding said item to the body of the vehicle
