It looks like a good one to me, it it one piece stamped? or is the disk a separate piece? What does the bar on the back of the buckle look like? Is there an "RZM" mark stamped on the back? It looks dark around the lettering, any trace of grey or tan paint?

NOWA = Norddeutsches Nickel u Silberwaren, (North German Nickel and Silverware), Hamburg, you have a very nice original belt and buckle. There is a listing for a buckle only at $165, and yours is in better shape, so I'd say you got a great deal, I'd imagine over $250 with the belt...

There's a good reason for that.... at one time, people were mostly collecting just the buckles, countless belts were just tossed, or were allowed to pretty much rot because they didn't really have any value to collectors. Then gradually the collectors came to value complete belts because they were getting scarce. I can't even tell you how lucky you were to find a nice complete belt and the fact it was in a thrift store just blows my mind....

I was pretty shocked when I saw it sitting there.......... The reason I knew it was real is because of the trench art I have...........if you have held this stuff and seen it in person it can be tricky
