I believe the first word on the left is STRONG - I can't make out the other two words. Anyone recognize what this crest is from and maybe know what it says? It's from a 1957 ring.

I can read Strong Vincent High School right on the front of the ring myself. The crest is identical with the exception of the motto being replaced with the words "Strong Vincent High School". Next!

Are there any initials etched on the inside of the band (the owners)?
If so, a yearbook may give you a strong (no pun intended:laughing7:) indication as to whose ring it is.

Does it have a date on either side? I might be wrong, (usually am) but I think most class rings have the date on one side. Also, is there anything stamped on the inside of the ring?

It says 19 on one side and 57 on the other. 1957 class ring.... on the inside of the band it says 10k and LGB,

The initials are W A H I believe but I don't see anyone with those initials in the yearbook.

Looking at it under 40x I do believe it says Strong Vincent Highschool :)

I've emailed the school for further help. Thanks again everyone!

Thank you for the clarification on the ring's markings inside. LG Balfour is a famous maker of class rings and military medals during WW2. I thought it looked like a 10k ring that has been in the saltwater for years. I've seen low karat gold come out looking like that before. The initials W.A.H., I believe they could they be W.H.H. I found a Wa(n)ye H. Hill who didn't graduate but was a member of the class of '57. Here at the very bottom of the page- SV_deceased_classmates1 » Page 1 of 1

WAYNE H. HILL, 58, 2516 Marlow Place, Cocoa, died Tuesday, July 8. Mr. Hill was a pest control technician. Born in New Britain, Conn., he moved to Central Florida in 1978. He was Catholic. He was a Marine Corps veteran. Survivors: son, Wayne Jr., North Huntingdon, Pa.; brothers, William, Warren, both of Erie, Pa.; two grandchildren. Brownlie and Maxwell Funeral Home, Melbourne.

YOU are fantastic and fabulous! Now to figure out how to find the son's contact information.

Excellent ID, diggumup, I couldn't find an image of a "57" class ring at the schools site. However, this thread is proof that we need ALL the info in the first post, not a little bit first and then a little bit more a few days later.

No it's not. Try reading her initial question. She asked for help in identifying the crest, explaining that she couldn't read the text within it. So, without further help that was accomplished.

I did read her initial post, she never indicated there were any other markings until post # 23

This is how they looked when I found them. Sorry for the trouble, I had not cleaned the inside of the ring enough yet to see any markings but had the outside cleaned enough to see the crest well so I thought I'd get the ball rolling. Next time I'll wait until I have it fully cleaned before posting. Sorry about that.

That's quite alright, the most important thing is that it was solved, it's frustrating sometimes cause there's people who post a mystery and then apparently forget about it, or they're not really interested in an answer in the first place, they just feel like posting SOMETHING. No harm, no foul. Love the ring,by the way.

The other markings had nothing to do with her question. Nothing. Her post was fine and needed no criticism as you've been throwing around about people not getting back for a day or two. It's good having you here, but have some patience.

I apologize to Kapidr and anyone else I may have offended with my impatience and comments. I am sorry.

No need for apologies. You did nothing wrong. You asked for a crest identification. You posted a photo of the crest and it was correctly identified. You didn't ask for anything else. Nice pile of rings by the way.

We all get caught up every now and then especially when we are passionate about something. It's all good.

Thanks! I kept thinking I was going to wake up! All were found in about 30 minutes of a 3 hour hunt, my third best hunt ever in my books. I grid searched the area in every direction I could for 3 days but nothing else good came from the dip before it was completely buried again. Definitely a spot I'll check again next storm. It's just very hard to get to.

Some people post a question and we work hard trying to give them an answer and they never post back. It gets aggravating. The fake silver Spanish coin we identified is a good example. The person never bothered to answer questions or post back. Its aggravating.

However that didnt happen here. Wow those are great finds. If you find a dip on the beach, you need to hit it quickly as it will most likely be covered at the next high tide. BTW Kapidr where in Florida are you?
