I'm sorry wasn't sure I'm knew to this. Just didn't want someone one to think I was somewhere I shouldn't be I just started in January this year.I apologize I wasn't trying to be rude.it was found in swmo around the Springfield Missouri area.I am sorry if I came across wrong.
No worries, earl. Where you hunt is up to you and most guys here don't give exact locations. But, as I mentioned, it often helps narrow the research effort if we know the general area where a relic was found.
You might want to add the word bullet to you title, then sit tight and wait for one of the gun guys to see your post.
Also, BTW, congrats on getting the wife out with you!
I'm not an expert on old bullets, but that reminds me a lot of a williams cleaner bullet. I don't know how many variations there are if any, but someone here should know. Cannonballguy?
Cheese, I identified Earl's wife's bullet when he posted it in the Today's Finds forum. It is a Gomez-&-Mills Patent bullet for the .38-caliber Sharps Rifle... and thus it is sometimes called a Sharps "Multigroove" bullet. Here's a link to my reply with that ID, and additional info about it. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/366820-curious-about-bullet.html#post3495982
Cool, I figured you would know. I know my way around modern bullets pretty well, but the old stuff I know little to nothing about. Just enough for me to want to guess when I shouldn't .
