Apush: My First

Hello All,
Been a while since I have posted as work and grad school has kept me very busy. But, I did have to stop tonight and post as I finally joined another "elite club." This Barber strolled out of 2 boxes I picked up this afternoon. Total = 1 Barber-1907-0; 2 Walkers, 1-1964, 6-40%, 1 clad cameo.

Hope everyone is doing great! I will have more time this summer to hunt as we have Friday's off.

Wow...that 1921 is a key date. Check reverse for mintmark. "D"=BIG money...no mark =Big money...S=big money. Oh, and you found a Barber. Nice job!

Great find apush and welcome back, if only temporarily!!! Think about the history of the US financial system back in 1907 when that coin was minted and used in commerce -- it was real money backed by silver and gold and there was NO Federal Reserve!!!

The 1921 Walker has no mint mark, but I can see a "ring" around the obverse as it has hit the coin machine. But, I will keep it. Joad, thank you for reminding me to check the "Red Book."

Congrats on your 1st barber and especially that key date 1921. The Denver mint is the rarest of the three followed by Philadelphia. Too bad about the damage but it's still a great find!
