larson . Cool finds. what and how was a arrow shaft wrench used, was it used to shave the bark and straighten shaft or ?

these were used to straighten the shaft once it was smoothed
this was done by wetting the area needing to be straightened
then the arrow was put through the hole and held under heat with pressure enuff to straighten and dry
this process made nice arrows
if you do not get what I mean I can post a picture

most of these were made from buffalo ribs and had one, two, or three holes
they were usually used until they broke
most of the ones I find have either been broke by farm equipment or from use
it is hard to find a complete one
