There are at least 7 for sure points, most probably 9.

Thanks. I am going to stick with the number 9 :D It just sounds better and I am sensitive

I can do better than that, I see 12 points and a probable blade (3rd from left on top row)

And that's why you and Lucky are now on the top of my Christmas list!!! Anyone who sees another will be in my will hahah ;D I will leave you the ten thousand rocks, pieces of glass and shells that I have picked up  Thanks guys. You have no idea how cool it is to see post here that acknowledge my finds. I know i suck at ruling things out but..... I suspect that by this time next year, I will have improved a lot. And that's thanks to the people on this site. I have been doing this since December and when you think about it...... that's not very long. Right now..... I am realizing (after reviewing my notes of each find) that I do much much better after a heavy storm. I believe that The water needs to churn up the sand so that its easier for the river to deliver these gifts to me.

Well, I'd rather have a bottle in front of me rather than a frontal labotomy.

BTW, I lost count of your points.

This is easy, its like looking at my own personal points, the only point there I don't have is the St.Albans & I'm working on getting that one off you LOL, joking. :D

I see 14 points, 1 blade.

1, Halifax ( VA Type).
2, Blade/knife. ( Not saying it wasn't a point at one stage).
3, Guilford Round base ( would have to look at it in hand though, to confirm it).
4, St.Albans (a beauty too). ;D
5, Too worn to tell, hate guessing. :-\
6, ?
7, ?
8, Halifax (VA Type, a beauty too).
9, Unsure due to it being broke.
10, Savanah River (VA Type).
11, Yadkin (worn).
12, Halifax.
13, Yadkin.
14, Savanah River.
15, Unsure- Worn.
16, Unsure base broke.
17, Halifax.

That's a great collection of VA points, you are doing great. Its so nice to look at points & know exactly what they are without doubt.
Well done Ab..

Molly. :)

I agree with Molly. I see 14 points and one possible blade.

All 8 in the bottom two rows. 3 points and a possible blade in row one and 3 points in row two.

way to go airborne...that should show those guys who "only see rocks" in your pics. you got some good stuff there :3some: :headbang: :occasion14:

Yup-- I see 14 and a blade. You're doing great!-- and they look very familiar . Nice to see stuff more like my area than more south and west. Aparently, we're a rare breed, we Mid-Atlantic Coasters!

Funny, I keep saying that what we really need is a good hurricaine (as though there is such a thing) to stir up new stuff! I'm guessing we artfact hounds are the only ones who would ever hope for such a thing!!... ::)

Happy Hunting-- and keep up the good work!

Hahaha ;D Thank you for that :D It's funny.... while I have absolutely NO doubt that many of the items that I find are not artifacts..... I still strongly believe that many of the ones that people honestly believe are geofacts, are in FACT Indian made. The two granite ones in the photo are a great example. 99.9% of the folks here truly believe that they are just rocks. I knew when I picked them up that one (on the right) is a Morrow Mountain and the other is a point (probably spear) of some kind. I knew it because nature does NOT grind and smooth down the base of a "rock", shape it like a point and have the edges sharp while the middle is equally thicker as you move from the sides to the front and center. A blind person would easily identify these as man made. The bigger fact is..... I have receive verification from the folks who work at the site and have collected there for many many years. They have axe heads, points, pottery, tools and other items that they have collected. Its frustrating that I can't say more about them and their qualifications but I can't. It would quickly give away the location and it may bring trouble to them as well. I realize that photos do not tell the whole story and so... I fully understand why others would rule these out. Anyway..... thank for the inspiring comments.

Molly......... you ALWAYS inspire me :D :D :D Thank you for that and I really do appreciate you taking the time to identify them all. I had used the Overstreet book but a couple of them were hard to clearly I.D. Oh yea...... the ST. Albans? That will forever be my favorite. Not only because its in such great shape and so beautiful.... but the feeling that I had when I saw it laying there..... man..... I will always remember that. Its that very feeling that has me out looking so often. Thanks again and stay safe!

I would agree with molly on the number of points in the pic... NICE display there Airborne! Very nice display with the exception of a couple it's wall worthy. Now leave the darn beach pebbles alone and concentrate on the real deal like this display!!

Thanks river. Your right..... besides us and Molly..... I rarely see points that are like ours.... in this area. Sometimes I get jealous of the material that the Indians had to work with in other areas. They made bigger and more detailed points that just leave no room for doubt at all. But then.... looking at these (in my photo) I realize that we have some very very nice ones as well. And I know that I am always just inches away from finding one. When the earth and the Indians decide to give them up and allow me to put them into safe keeping for them ;D The thought of what probably lies just beneath the sand or the dirt on a trail is exciting.

Thanks again friend and safe hunting to you

Hahahah! hey man........ I seriously appreciate your kind (and motivating) words. Thank you. I know how you feel about the two in the photo and fully get it. As for the pebbles... I will try my very very best to not pick them up from now on  I have to realize and accept that not every hunt will produce beauties like the ones pictured here. Its hard to leave empty handed sometimes. BUT.... I did just that yesterday ;D Its a process but I am learning.

its probably the pics.....could it be that these 2 were practice points made by a child learning how to make points and never finished....i think the thickness around the middle and lack of workings that throws everyone off....perhaps post some clear closeups of the edges to show the sharpness or that it was worked will clear up any doubts

You are probably right. There is a pretty large campsite (Indian) with many many old fire pits and a TON of flaking material made of various types of quartz and other material as well. It was a summer fishing village for eons of time and you can imagine the amount of folks who sat there and practiced the art of the craft. That's where it becomes a bit problematic for a new guy like me. I can pick up a thousand "rocks" that show signs of work but were just tossed away without completion. The quarry where the white quartz was collected is a few miles away and these Indians would bring lots of it to the camp and work it there. That's why its knee deep in flakes. Its a challenge

I love arrowheads, but if I lived in a flood or surge zone, I wouldn't wish for a hurricane if a thousand arrowheads washed though my front door.

Ivan put 18 inches of dirty sea water in my last home. You haven't lived until you've thrown half your house and all of your furniture on the curb. I moved back home, 300 miles inland, so I wouldn't have to go through that again.

********

.... Nice collection Airborne.
