Asked to leave the nature center

Hunted a Baltimore County park today and was not finding much until I dug a wheat (good sign). After that I came upon a wheat/dime spill and that was my first silver of the day.
I kept in the same area and a 27 signal on the Equinox 600 yielded another spill. Out came two nickels, both 1964.
I thought that was it but noticed a silver quarter in the dirt from the hole. I checked the hole for any other coins and got another quarter, a 1964.

I continued to detect there but was asked to leave by an employee who was pressing the case that the park was a nature center, so I obliged, having had a good run of it. There may be more there. Here's the total take of wheats, nickels and silver.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I really wanted to scour the area. Obviously a place people congregated at in the '60s. I was sort of obvious, detecting along the entrance road to the park. I'll take three silvers in one hunt. Can't recall when that happened last.

I've had a couple long talks w the Baltimore County folks. Anywhere there is an old foundation (historic ruin), or there is a "nature trail" or those forests of young trees with the ugly wraps on the trunks to keep the deer from killing them is totally off limits to detecting.

I also found out Loch Raven is 100% off limits to detecting. The Maryland Environmental Police will ticket you first time for detecting there.

Around Loch Raven is the only place I have ever seen those cars. I wonder who or what they are protecting or THINK they're trying to protect. One day I'll stop and ask one what they do.

No just Government "make work". Environmental police, really? They hug trees?

They're out to put the smackdown on out-of-control woodpeckers. Those critters dig holes in trees and don't repair them.​

And they want to protect cars from bucks in rut. This time of year especially. But only around Loch Raven. At the little park and ride on Paper Mill Road early a few days ago I saw four K-9 units with everybody in camo getting ready to do something. Not sure what.

Nice work! Man, that sucks. It’s unfortunate because people see a shovel and immediately assume you’re digging to China. Most of us do a great job and leave no trace of our presence. It’s that 2% of careless jacks that give Detecting a bad reputation. You did the right thing, better not to make a scene.

I've heard that in the last couple of years more public land has been banned from detecting in Baltimore.
