At Pro Whipped and Looking Dim

Could be the same reasons you didn't agree with your etrac.

Hardly!

My two biggest issues with the ET were it's terrible balance and it's horrrible R2D2 driving an ice-cream truck sound!
Oh sure I could have harnessed myself to it but I'm not a Yak! There wasn't anything to do about the rêtarded sound!

Oh yeah and then there are these situations. 3min recovery aint my bag!

So op must be doing something wrong if he doesn't get along with the same detector as you. I see now.

Have you had your ATP checked out by the dealer/manufacturer? You may have a bad coil or a bad connection somewhere. I know with my V3i you can turn the gain up all the way and if it overloads then you have a bad coil.. mine was bad right out of the box. It still worked but not like a $1500 detector should. I called whites and they sent me a new one asap. Needless to say my satisfaction with depth and finds went way up. Went from dimes and pennies at 5 inches to 9 and 10 inches.

Or or or...you could go back and reread my post.

glug glug glug!

Your not going to do any better with the E TRAC...if you cant figure out the AT pro, your going to really be frustrated trying to figure out the E TRAC. Not saying the E TRAC isn't better than the AT but the AT is good enough that you should be digging 3/4 of those targets your friend digs. I bet you could switch detectors with that guy and he would really have you upset. You got to figure it out, a new machine is not going to do that for you. Good luck.

I've reread and all I see is almost an obsession to let everyone know how much you dislike the etrac. gulg away

From an experienced explorer and etrac owner, don't believe the hype. Learn the machine you have.

If you don't like your machine try a different one. A friend of mine had the AT pro and hated it so much he got rid of it and got an AT gold. He's a lot happier with it that the previous machine.
Some machines work better in areas than other machines. So many machines out there you should be able to find one that works with you.

Location & Luck. 2 most important Functions in a metal detecor.

If they create a detector that pulls you to the correct place to hunt and Emanates Luck
to the person holding it.
Buy it .

You have to swing over the target to find it.
