I was studying some 1940 aerial views of a ball field last night. I noticed the ball diamond itself shifted from one end of the field to the other since then. Screenshot_2018-06-11-22-27-03.pngScreenshot_2018-06-11-22-27-12.png
I figured the best place to start would be where the old ball diamond sat. Spent a few hours there and nothing old... Clad and trash. Suddenly, out pops this beauty. 7g of 14k. I'll take it. 20180612_163526.jpg20180612_210307-1.jpg

Where did you find a 1940 aerial photo? I tried google earth but for my area it only goes back to 1990:(

Nice find. I'd like to hit the parks around me but they have a no digging clause in the regulations. Not sure if it would apply to metal detecting since we only do plugs.

Nah....I wouldn't keep it. Too small. Throw it back and let it grow up.:tongue3:

You've found a treasure map of another kind -- congrats on finding gold with it! :occasion14:

a terrible find, you should have left it as seed...it was probably 10k when it was lost! Nah, just kidding, pretty darn sweet gold!
