Chuck, I have a few pieces that I have found along the banks of the Ohio River that are polished smooth as glass. I know you seen a couple of them at the shows but may not remember them. One is a very nice Big Sandy made from Nethers that is very highly polished and another I just found this summer and it's a Kirk and is also very highly polished, so it is quite possible that it could be river or creek polish.
Here's some pics of the pieces I mentioned and some others from the same spot.

The 2nd is the Kirk
The rest are other pieces that have came from the same beach and you can see how polished they are. The last pic is a Scraper that you can just barely make out the flaking along the edge because of the high polish.
This spot is right where a loading dock area for a barge company is located and they dredge it a couple times a year and I think these piece may be getting sucked up in the dredge and then deposited on the beach and that might be what is polishing them.
