Happily 65, detected for about a year in the early 80's, back in the hobby for the last ten years.

I'm 18 and started 7 years ago. Will be going to college for computer science next year :).

Been hooked on old / lost stuff since I can first recollect...

First job offer searching for treasure 1980... at age 12.

Do the math :P

Was fishing from shore the day the Mayflower landed which completely ruined my fishing hole...decided then to take up detecting! Actually, turned 65 last year and started detecting in '77.

Will be 61 on the 21st. I got my first detector for Christmas in 1969 when I was 13 years old. It was a WWII surplus mine sweeper with the huge wooden coil or paddle as they were referred to back then. That thing was bigger than I was. I would find my first relic ever with this. A piece of blown Hotchkiss Artillery Shell. I was hooked. Still am.

I am 57 have been detecting off and on for 10 years

46. been detecting since I was 10 when my uncle got me started. First detector was a White's 2db I thought was like magic. Never grew out of my fascination with detecting. Been hooked non stop ever since.

The "average" metal detectorist is a 37 - 67- year-old white male, High School education, a "Blue Collar" job averaging $55,000 - $70,000.00 annually. :skullflag:

Almost. I'm 22 and make 34,000$ annually. Almost fit haha
