Found a nice spoon, looks like silver with the initials H.K. and the back says something like "O.I???BLEY". :dontknow: 1936 Buffalo Head, two musket balls, lead seal, Tomabac button, buckle bit and some small artifact with a small hole in it. :icon_scratch:

Thanks, I think your right about the coin silver. :icon_thumleft:

The item with the hole in it was most likely a fishing sinker. Back then necessity truely was the mother of invention.

Colonial sinker?

Because fishing has always been an important food source, archiological digs of the first settlers up here unearthed fishing sinkers that were nothing more than flattened lead with a hole drilled in it, just like the one pictured.

I have a spoon in my collection from an "O. E. Sibley"... same person?

Looks like the same exact spoon. How old do you think it is?

Oscar Easterly Sibley worked in Canandaigua and Buffalo, NY from about 1835 - 1870.

That is a sweet spoon. :icon_thumright:
