Went back out in the fields again today to save as much History as possible , 700 acres out here and I don't think i even scratched it yet, but the find have been just amazing , not a lot but a little at a time and that's just fine with me. The button is a 3/4 crown with a N script , I have not been able to ID it but from the ones I see close to this one that they are early ? A 1923 wheat ,and some reed pieces for the jar.

The shank, the construction of the button and the inscription makes me think 1st French Empire Napoleonic button (1809-1815)

I know ! Gary, I am just shocked that this button was there, this is only the 3rd button from this site,2 4 hole and this one . The land owner said this was a stop point for travelers, and a tavern ? but have not been able to prove that yet. You may have to come down for a visit. I have been up you way a few times fishing .

Love that button! As soon as I saw the bird cage shank I figured it was French, but Aureus nailed the ID.
