Well, wife and I visited the family homestead again today. Tried some spots we haven't hit before out in the fields. Owners are still working around the house, so we'll stay out of the way till they're done.

Wife had a bucket lister, her first silver. A 1916 Barber dime, nice looking too. Although it looks like an animal chewed on it.

I got a bucket lister too! My very first shoe buckle fragment.

I also got a spun back tombac button and what I think is an arcade token.

The home owners gave us some of the original windows from the house. These windows would have been installed by my gggg grandfather Daniel sometime between 1820 and 1830.

That's a great looking dime, even with the "bite marks", and I love those old windows.

That Barber Dime is certainly a keeper, congrats.
Have any thoughts on what your going to do with the windows?

Nice finds! When my cousins were working on my family’s homestead i got right around the house. There was way more stuff hanging around the house than in the fields. Even found coins and relics so old, it preceded the age of the property. Just sayin that was my experience.

Deeds in the county go back to the 1760's. Two of the coins we found in the fields predate the original deed, 1733 and 1734 KG II's. The owners should be done working around the outside of the home next trip so we can in and work around it. The Black Smith shop (my ancestors made sickles) is also still a dirt floor, can't wait to get in there.

My wife says the dime was just below the surface. Was probably lost by a member of my family as they owned the farm till 1940. Some of the panes have been replace over the years, but most still have the bubbles and warped glass.

Great finds - a real nice last year Barber Dime !

Making a Picture Frame out of a old Window is a cool idea !

Good deal! Cant wait to see what comes out of there! My cousins had to do a lot of foundation work on the house and they exposed a lot of the older dirt. Which was why we found so much colonial stuff. Good luck and HH!

Fortunately for the owners, unfortunately for me, the foundation is in surprisingly good shape.
