The grandaughter (4 yr. old Zoey) came to visit for a month,
and I got "Zoey Duty" today.
We were driving around and running errands when Zoey, out
of the blue, said "Can we treasure hunt?".
We hunted last year at the high school and she LOVED finding
the "TREASURES" and "MONEYS".
I couldn't take her to the school today, so I told her we would find
treasures in the yard. Not really expecting much because I have
hunted the yard quite a bit.
We got home and went to work. To my surprise, the first target
was a 1964 silver dime!
One quarter, one nickel, 13 pennies (a '41 and a '47), and the rosie,
Zoey , and grandpa, were ready for a nappy. Hunt successful!!!

Zoey "calling" to spread the news about her treasures.

Nice going Ty..it's great when you can pass the excitement of the hobby to the grandkids. I wouldn't be surprised if she asks you to go out again during her visit.

Good job on those finds there ty. Love it when the kiddos like to hunt with me.

Backyards are hot for finds.

Congrats on the nice finds and thanks for the great story.

I've hunted our yard for 15 years now and taken stuff out of it dating back to the 1700's.

I even found a cache about 15 inches deep by the corner of my garage!

My yard is about totally played out now after a dozen detectors and some 1000+ hours of hunting it.

I found enough to line the wall of our breezeway with curiosity items and coins!

HH,

Great quality time and finds with the granddaughter! HH, Mike

That's better than finding THREE "stinkin' counterfeit's coppa's" in one year Ty....Need to hold onto that dime until she can take care of it.Your house did alway's have that silver look :o Give her a high five for me and I'll see you tommorrow before the tweety's start cheeping.Cool Stuff!!!!

Silver is soo dang pretty! I saw an episode of "MythBusters" last night that made me sick to my stomach. They took two "MS" grade Morgan silver dollars circa 1883 and two 1870 Silver Dollars and tried to SHOOT HOLES THROUGH THEM. :tard: :tard: :P :o :sad5: They were testing the myth whether an old period revolver could punch a hole through a silver dollar.....welll, they couldn't but they MANGLED the coins making HUGE indentions in them :'(

Anyway, back from vacation and back to your post.......Thats a pretty silver dime bud

thats awesome! Congratulations on the silver rosie!

It's amazing how kids have way more patience. . . they're just as happy with a Memorial penny as they are with an Indianhead.

It's moments like this she'll remember for the rest of her life

Neat
