Had another great trip fishing in the Bahamas (my 9-5 job) but when it's blowing or to rough to fish I'm treasure hunting. Didn't have much time this trip to hunt , but got in some detecting, beachcombing, and mudlarking. Found plenty of 18 pound cannonballs, and lots of shipwreck debris on a windswept secret beach deep in the islands !! There were great areas to mudlark, and beautiful potsherds, beach glass, and clay pipe parts to dig along with all sorts of other material. I shared the wreck site with friends and everyone got a cannon ball, and had a great time. My favorite coin of the trip was the 1782 thaler copper .... my first and only so far.

Still unpacking stuff and finding more finds in my baggage!! This little lead toy animal, was in close proximity to my thaler coin !! I believe it's a lead cat !!

OMG Fishing or detecting is one heck of a job decision you have to face. In the Bahamas no less. Fantastic post !! Thank you for sharing.
They ask me when I'll retire.....I tell them I retired when I was 25, and someone paid me to go fishing !!

Every chance you get - soak it in. You appear to be in a very fortunate place in life right now.

I’m a firm believer effort should be made in appreciating what we have, but also learning to find appreciation in the things that cannot be taken away. A winter storm, an early morning sunrise, conversations with strangers, helping others, ect.

Great finds by the way, and thanks for sharing them here.

Not to highjack but this was my most recent appreciation after being woke up by coyotes howling. Taken from my cot. Not edited, just the glory.

Well i must agree with you....rarley in the states will i get up to watch a sunrise. When I'm in the Bahamas i find myself up early in anticipation of what the day might bring. The excitement of possible discovery is palpable, and I find myself pacing with coffee in the pre dawn air awaiting the sun to greet me and start the adventure!! I've never worked so hard at having fun than I do when I'm adventuring with good friends in the islands. Now we embark on the biggest hunt of my life....a fully permitted underwater galleon quest !! In 2 weeks I'll be underwater searching for the big one in Bahamian waters !! My bucklist dream will finally happen, and it's time to prove myself on the next level......here we go !! Hope to be able to share some of this adventure here on t-net....ill need all the luck and wishes you guys can muster for me !!

I will always remember you as the "pirate" that found a golden panther. lol
Best of luck.
