I saw them in the late 1960’s Brian Wilson wasn’t there, some other guy I don’t know his name. At one time Glen Campbell filled in on bass guitar.

Years later Dennis Wilson gave two hitch-hiker girls a ride, turned out they were Charles Manson followers. Dennis got involved and actually took one of Manson’s song for the Beach Boys to record. But the producer made them change one line in the lyrics and Manson threw a fit when he heard the album. He sent Dennis a letter with a bullet in it with Dennis’ name carved on it. The followers took over Dennis’ mansion and his Mercedes. He ran away and left them with everything.

Also another note, there was another guy in the Manson cult named Charles who got charged with four murders. It is said he told the others that Charley wanted them to do it. Now there is some speculation that he was the guy that ordered the murders, not Manson.
