What do detectorists refer to when they say theyve been searching low spots? From what ive heard theyre pretty productive. Thanks!

Low spots are depressions in the sand that are lower than the surrounding sand. These are usually found in the wet sand, or below the high tide line.

Ill add a small tidbit here too. In new england here. These spots are rocky, and the low point is obvious. Surrounding that spot though, is not so obvious. Around the low points can yield good finds too. So if your on a crowded beach and you can only hunt maybe a few feet from a pocket...its still worth it. I found a nice diamond ring that way. hh an gl -Joe
