Beach yields a big "cookie" with a surprise inside

Worked the negative tide this morning and got a surprise of sorts... Hit a target that just about blew my headphones off Dug down only one scoop to find a nice size "cookie". The sand that encrusted the coin actually broke away pretty easily. Certainly wasn't expecting to find one of these there. With a date no less

What a beauty!!!

Congratulation on a nice find.

I have only one to my credit, not found at the beach but on dry land.

I was over in Vero Beach in November. Someone said that so and so found one, I didn't see it. Seeing is believing, but I did find a Mercury dime incrusted with sand.

Good luck out there.
