Beachmaster 300 vs. Surfmaster PI Dual Field

In heavy black sand and wet saltwater sands, a good P.I. beats any VLF Multi-Freq machine with any coil on it.
 

I've had both, and I'd go with the Dual Field also.
 

I have used half a dozen VLF detectors from 3 major brands on the beaches of Oregon and WA. The black sands crippled them all. The best performer was actually a Minelab Excalibur in all metal mode, but the performance was still quite sorry; I'd go with the PI for sure.
