Beautiful frog shaped rock...

Find this in Northwest Louisiana. Multi layer with multi color in the close outline of a toad on top. Flip it over and there is a clearly a toad on bottom... there's a chipped "mouth" all 4 nubs where the legs are. And a little froggy tail between the back legs.

Can someone please help me?!?! I want to believe that this is a legitimate fossilized frog but, another part of me is saying that someone is a dang good artist and somehow lost their beautiful frog piece in the woods...

Unfortunately, it was dropped on the concrete and a piece of the bottom jaw chipped off. I put a dab of super glue and reattached it. (Which is visible in the pictures)

The brilliant reflectiveness visible in your photos at many locations on the stone you found tell us that it has been put through some very fine polishing process by a human... it is not in its "natural" condition. It appears to have the characteristics of a carved-&-polished Mexican Onyx animal -- a banded mineral of the Chalcedony family which is very often sold in the shape of an animal as tourist souvenirs and curios.
