Merry Christmas all. Thanks for all the great posts and pictures.

We’re getting good rainfall this year for a hopefully a great prospecting season. Here’s a shot of the forks of the Smith River here on the north coast of California.

I would like to dive the Smith River! Does she hold lots of antique treasures? The river's colour is a beautiful blue...

Not know for antiques but fantastic salmon and steelhead fishing, hand tools and pans prospecting, kayaking, rafting and swimming.

Mike nice picture I would love to go fishing there

Any fisher would love this river billb. The steelhead are running right right now. With the high water from recent rains the fishing is good. Here’s a nice one I caught a couple days ago.

Gorgeous pic Mike, and the fish ain't bad either...:icon_thumright:

I see it's not clipped...Do they let you keep wild steelhead down there?

Hi Dizzy, no we have to release the wild fish. This fish was probably about 12-14 lbs. caught another that day about 10 lbs.

Just across the border, in Oregon, we can keep wild steelhead. I’ll be getting an out of state license and fish the coastal rivers there soon.

That is a beautiful stretch of river. I've driven this road many times and still love it!

What? Is that allowed?
