Got out last night, the first time in a looong time as I started weight lifting again. Took a much needed break from the gym and found myself wandering around the local park that has been hunted to death!

Dug the usual clad and junk and then got a signal that screamed "dig me" solid 27, 4" down I pulled this beauty! What a surprise.

Enjoy

Congrats on a very nice high grade seated dime. That one did not circulate long enough to wear. Is that how clean it came out of the ground?

Nice!! I would say it was lost well before 1900? Was a big lose at the time!

What an amazing Seated- makes you wonder how others missed something like that at a rather shallow depth- great recovery!

so a bit a of a rant here ...
I sent this coin in with a bunch of other coins to NGC to have it graded. I understand there was no real advantage to doing this but figured what the heck the slab will protect it and I was curious as to the grade.

it came back CLEANED???!!!!

I called their customer service line and said I literally dug the coin, rinsed it with water (not considered cleaning btw) and sent it to them, no one cleaned it.
Instead of fessing up that maybe they made a mistake, that possibly it being in the ground for that long fooled their graders they pushed the idea that maybe someone back in the 1800's cleaned it LOL - for what reason???!!!

Has anyone had an issue like this with NGC - WHAT A JOKE!!
