Bedrock question

If I have bedrock jolting out of the bank and creek but there is no dirt just cracks in the bedrock should I sample that dirt

If there's dirt in the cracks--yes. If there's dirt that been slowed by the bedrock jutting in to the creek (upstream side)--yes. If there's dirt behind the bedrock (downstream of the thrust)--yes. Anything that slows the flow and creates a low pressure system or place for heavies to drop--sample it.
