I used to really dislike Thanksgiving. That's when all the relatives all came to my Grandparents farm to celebrate.
Celebrate my behind! Myself and my cousins were assigned to manure duty. Do you know what it's like to dig out manure and straw that's been compressed into near concrete, from a year's worth of cattle hoofs? And yep PA cows can drop more then any others. You'd have to duck your head to clear the rafters as the stuff was so high. We'd dig Thur/Fri/Sat/ and even Sunday after church if need be. Only break was Monday, first day of buck season.

Two things I learned about cows as a kid. They poop a lot, and milk fresh from the cow does not smell like milk, it smells like cow.
