I did find the penny and the nickle is only for size comparison

I am fairly certain that the rusted piece on the left is a 1/4 turn fastener receptical, usually found on canvas items. Similar to this plastic one. Easy Install Plastic Turn Fasteners (4 Pieces) Product Photos,Easy Install Plastic Turn Fasteners (4 Pieces) Product pictures -
No idea on the gold looking item.

Ah! So it was a readers digest canvas bag all the parts came from. I'm just guessing from all the info above.
