Went to the base today and had an alright day. I didn't see the wild flock of turkeys today there, but I did find a silver 1948 D Roosevelt. Also, I was surprised to pop out a Bicentennial dollar. The 2 shilling was about 8" down under a big root. Also found four wheats and about 3$ in clad. Thanks for looking!!

Wow! :o Great looking coin finds there history hunter! :notworthy:
Can you tell me why the Shilling looks dull in color and
yet the Rosie looks so good? :icon_scratch:
Or is that simply a reaction to the soil where you are?

Thanks,
Dave

The shilling is not silver, but some kind of clad. I got a nickel reading on it. thanks!

Nice Ike! Did you use the Omega? I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Nice finds! That Ike is a honker alright.

No, I have the old teknetics 8000 with the old needle dial from about 1978. I have been using this machine since about 1978 or before. I am saving my found change and will get a new machine in the future. The machine is over 32 years old and still going!! Knock on wood!!

Nice Finds!
that $ coin must have been an ear ringer,
the Florin is the same Cupronickel alloy as a modern US/Canada Nickel.
Looking forward to your next post!
