Big Batwing Buckle

Finally got out detecting today, been a busy few weeks. Well tried area in the woods I detected a few weeks ago. I was getting a bit discouraged, one shot gun shell butt after another, ended up digging 55 of them. I don't like to pass up those targets because I recovered a Machin Mills halfpenny that sounded and VDI was similar to shell butts, also some buttons read similar.

Anyway, got one nice sounding target and it was about 7-8" deep. A really cool, large Batwing buckle!! Really nice, has some little circle ornate designs. Over 3 inches in length. I believe it's colonial any info would be appreciated.

I don't think I've ever seen a bat wing buckle with engravings. Good for you! Looking at all those shotgun shells, it's clear that you earned that recovery.
