Had a chance to hunt in parent's farmyard again today-the same place where I found my first Mercury last week and have found numerous relics in the last couple of months
Was in the backyard when I got a decent mixed signal, dug three inches and saw what I thought was a piece of copper tubing. When I pried it out, I was very surprised to see a .50 cal bullet ! I imagine some kid got it at a military surplus shop. Here it is, next to some blackpowder bullets I've found in the same yard. Some of them are fired, and some are fired and impacted. A couple still have grease on them. The musketball was dropped.

Here are some more relics I've found in the last 3 weeks-2 silver plated spoons, a third pocket watch, a third sliver plated buckle, a third sling buckle, a second sales tax token, a second Marine Corps button, a glass mason jar top, and some type of brass spool

Finally, I noticed a tree frog hiding in my mother's potted palm. He's probably thinking, "The master of camouflage has tricked you, stupid human!"

NINJA FROG!!! ;D

Great finds Bling - keep 'em comin' !

Does the brass spool have a slot (length-wise) in it? Could be film spool out of an old camera...

I agree, the frog is Mr Stealth and the knife is cool as well.

I forgot to mention the jackknife-it is a Queen brand, marked "Made in USA '79".
The quality is excellent, I sprayed it with WD-40 and it cleaned right up, works perfectly, and is still sharp
The spool doesn't appear to be for film, could be for thread or possibly a machine part

Nice finds and i like the tree frog.
I've only seen two tree frogs in mn.

I really like that pocket knife you found, and the critter as well ;D

All very different finds you got there. No telling what you will find next time out there. Good job!

I don't know much about bullets....I like the knife. It looks sharp!
