Went up in the Colorado National Monument today and was treated to seeing these big horn sheep along with the spectacular rock formations which I will post a couple of pics of later. The third pic shows better where they were on a big ledge.

Cool pics. Hard to imagine the lack of snow 3 hours west of here!

I was lucky in that they opened up the road today, and glad there wasn't too much snow, but there is a lot of snow on the nearby grand mesa and that road has been opened only sporadically the last couple of weeks. I'll be passing by your way Thursday on I-70 as I make my way to my next stop in St Louis, and expect to see more snow and I hope the weather holds clear so I have a nice ride across this gorgeous state that I have never been to before.

What a great encounter and a nice looking day to boot.

Always a cool sight.. my first trip to colorado I was on a mission to see a big horn sheep hiked all over to seclude spots to find nothing then on my way home theres four standing in the middle of the road I considered myself lucky..
