Well went to my claim today to do a little Sluicing. I usually take the same path to the river and noticed a couple deep test holes I usually don't give it a thought because most holes are just a little shovel full but these holes were deep about 1 1/2' deep and wide so I continued to the River where I have pulled most of my Gold out and first thing I see are 2 very large holes that looked like a Badger dug out lol then a 3rd place where they dislodged a large Boulder and dug a deep hole, but looked more like a small tunnel, at that point I'am cussing up and down. My Claim is posted where people can clearly see my sign and my monument marker stands out like a sore thumb and these A$$ holes walked right past it on there way to where they dug. Anyway I guess I will set my trail cam up and see who shows up lol. First pic is where someone was digging Jerks. I will post some pics after I pan my con's.

Sorry to hear that. My sister in law (78 yrs old) tripped on a cracked raised up sidewalk and when trying to catch her fall broke both of her wrists. She was a mess for months.

If there is any good out of this she only has to have surgery on her Left ankle the Right was broke but in place.

Please tell me that you tell anyone who asks what happened that she forgot your sandwich and or you had to "tell her twice". Also dont you dare go prospecting if she says you can! You better leave then come right back with snacks and her favorite coffee.

I can tell you that you don’t want to skip taking a pain pill because it’s not hurting very bad. Learned the hard way, it takes hours to build the effects back up and that can be miserable. Better to just take them the first few days, then wean the dosage down by cutting pills in half.

If the land owner has liability insurance your insurance will probably file a claim on their insurance before they cover your medical bills.

It gets awkward when the accident happens on a friend or family’s land. It’s just the way the system is set up. Had a friend whose son’s friend broke his leg in a SXS accident in their front yard. That was a scary moment for him not knowing if he was going to get sued. It all worked out in the end and everyone is still friends.

I took a look at the City sidewalks around my house and even the part that has grass and dirt City owned has many drop offs on City property so I think they just don't care about those areas. I still might talk to a legal agent.

Here in California, even when the sidewalk extends beyond what is shown as the property line, the land owner adjacent to the sidewalk is responsible for maintenance and repair of sidewalks. The exception being if the city collects special sidewalk maintenance taxes or if the city plants trees in or along the sidewalk.

Not many people know this or believe it. It goes back to the late 1900’s I believe. I can post the code section if you’re interested.

If your insurance company will pay, it may be a moot point.

A 4” drop off the backside really isn’t worse than the 6” drop on the curb face. Sounds like an unfortunate accident. Your wife fell in the worst way possible. Hopefully she is resting without too much pain. I was in a bad accident once. It’s just a memory now. But in the moment it takes grit to get through it.

So SORRY to hear this ! I went through this back in 85 & 86 and it was no fun atall !

She is still in the rehab nursing facility and doing very well pain is no longer a issue. Surgery for just her left ankle is this Friday then back to rehab center for 2-3 days then can come home which will not be easy but at least her frame of mind will be in a better place. Again thank you all for the nice comments and concern for my Wife
