I managed to get out early Sunday morning on a solo hunt, as the other boys had chores. I went over to the bad side of town, home of the bottle caps! I hit a couple of lots that formerly had houses on them.
I was digging the usual, nails and bottle caps... when a nickel appeared, I wiped it off, and it had that silver look to it, first silver of the day '45P war nickel.

Bolstered by my success, I plunged ahead. Not two feet later, an IHC appeared. All of my IHCs are all chewed up. I am so jealous of the gents that find the nice jade green ones.

I zapped this one with electrolysis... it was a nice 1900 when dropped, but 100 years on the ground ate it up.

A bit later, I got a fairly good signal... bigger than a quarter. I dig a lot of half dollar signals, 99% are NOT half dollars though! When the dirt came out of the hole, I saw what looked like the rim of a big silver coin...

I grabbed it up in my greedy little hand, to make sure it wasn't a gas cap or some other half dollar looking piece of junk.

It was NOT junk this time... it was a 1945 Walker.

It has been awhile since I found a silver half dollar, and let me tell you, it felt really good.
YTD silver coins: 39
Thanks for looking, and good luck on your hunts!
