I was diging some more and my detector went off to show something big so I started diging and it turned out to be just a large round metal ring, I think there might have been a fire pit there or something cause I found a couple charchol brickets, it was 2 big so I did'nt dig it all the way, I am almost done with the back yard, just one row left, I might go over it again with the discriminator off, I know I will probably just find a lot of nails but that trap I found beeped nail and it turned out not to be so you never know.

Never rely completely on your meter. Too many things determine the signal something put out. I hope it wasn't a barrel type BBQ pit.

Anything old is a cool find.
Nails are good to get out of the way.
I've been over my backyard 3 times, and 2 days ago, I found .42 cents and a 1942 wheat.

You just never know what you'll find in a yard. I've been hunting ours for 14 years and every year I find something even better. This past spring I dug a 19th century very heavy Rose Gold (75% solid gold) chain right in the middle of the wife's flower garden! I'd hunted that area at least a dozen times before.

Each year brings more stuff up.
