I see a lot of wear around the rim. What is the error here?

Time for more coffee.

caught in a dryer can wear the rim down,.

worth 49.62819 cents :laughing9:

Rim is worn but looks a tiny bit off center too.

I believe it is called a partial collar or tilted collar.....the weak areas correspond on each side and the reeding is visible from 8 to 11 oclock on the obverse. I am not sure I am describing this as accurately as possible but it is a mint error.

Remember, just the rim cannot wear down all by itself without the rest of the coin wearing down as well.

HH all!

It sure can. I once used a coin as a tool to open and close a slotted grate opening and the edges got all worn down. Perhaps this was once used as some sort of scrapper or other tool like use. Maybe it was stuck under something for years that vibrated, wearing on the edges where it made contact. Who knows, lots of scenarios could cause uneven wear.

Of course, you can do anything you want to a coin......I meant natural wear from circulation, not mutilation......You can't have a worn slick rim without the rest of the coin following suit. Just like you can't have a slick coin with a sharp rim.

Then by all means, 1235CE, buy it form the guy and add it to your collection! lol

1bigpopsont. If someone offers you 51 cents for it, take it before they change their mind...
