At the risk of having this thread moved, I’ve never seen a blade/ scraper like this. Your opinion is appreciated.

Hide scraper? It looks sharpened on the bottom point and hooked to possibly begin the gutting process. Thanks for the reply

Could it have been utilized? Yes
Will you ever know with any certainty? No

Far better rocks out there to keep and ponder over.

Agree with others. Has a cool shape. When I hunt I take home quite a few flakes and put in a jar. I would put that one in my jar for sure. Nothing more big ole discarded piece of nice material.

Thanks for the input fellas. You pick up a big ol flake like this and it fits perfect in the hand it’s easy to assume it’s a blade scraper.

I see no signs of being worked. Not sure how long you have been hunting artifacts but don't get caught up in the "it fits my hand" criteria, that is not a sign of an artifact, that is a sign of the wonder of the human hand.

By the way, welcome to TreasureNet, the oldest treasure hunting website on the net.

When I first started looking for artifacts, i swore I saw TONS of things out there. Lucilky i was with someone that was skilled and pretty much shot me down everytime.

When i actually found a REAL piece, it made the other finds so obvious they were natural.
