Could be a ladies ring. A lot of wedding ring back "in the day" were plated. Of all the wedding style rings I dug from 100+ year old sites, all but one have been brass. A few still had remnants of plating left.

yep, pretty common ring to find in many older spots. think we have 6 or 7 of them so far. I think that they are very cool, they are more likely from the hard working families that had less. a once very valued personal item that was lost but now found by you in this case. sweet find
