Brass thimble

Got this thimble near an 1812 battle site. Think it may be from either an American or British soldiers kit..................Daniel

Tough to date but if I found it here I would have thought 2nd half of the 19th C.

I’ve dug a couple from a native American site here in Georgia that dates back to the late 1790-1820s. They were trade items I assume. They look identical to yours.
